My family and I just returned from a vacation at Myrtle Beach, SC. A really beautiful place. I got up every morning at 5:30 AM and sat on the beach to watch the sunrise. Great imagery and spectacular colors. Seeing a fiery orange globe slowly arise fom the ocean was a truly spiritual experience. Of course, my wife and kids thought I was going psycho for getting up so early on vacation. To me it was well worth it. I am posting a series of images from that week. All photos were taken between 5:30 and 7:30 AM. A few of the images are my first attempt at HDR. Please feel free to comment, criticize, make suggestions. I hope you enjoy my photos.

love the busyness of the twigs. It really looks like something out of the woods!

@Carlos Palma: Thank you. My friend has a really big backyard with lots of trees.
yes i love these tones here -- great shot, am enjoying this barren thicket -- i wonder what it would look like in color? :)

@dj.tigersprout: On this day, I was in a black & white mood - no color. I miss my Tri-X!
