My family and I just returned from a vacation at Myrtle Beach, SC. A really beautiful place. I got up every morning at 5:30 AM and sat on the beach to watch the sunrise. Great imagery and spectacular colors. Seeing a fiery orange globe slowly arise fom the ocean was a truly spiritual experience. Of course, my wife and kids thought I was going psycho for getting up so early on vacation. To me it was well worth it. I am posting a series of images from that week. All photos were taken between 5:30 and 7:30 AM. A few of the images are my first attempt at HDR. Please feel free to comment, criticize, make suggestions. I hope you enjoy my photos.

A wonderful use of fill flash.Your subject is sharp with good color while the rest of the image is in motion. Great effect.

@Stephen Phillips: Thanks Stephen.
I agree with the above comment. It would also have been lovely to see some people on the horses. You have some great photos in your portfolio.

@Mike: Timing is eveything... Thanks for taking time to comment.
There's something quite expectant about these horses devoid of rider... I love the way you've captured the motion in this pic. Rather envious actually. I've tried it a few times and failed miserably! :-)

Definitely a "hit or miss" shot. On hindsight, I should have included some of the riders. Thanks for commenting.
