Painting is painting. Photography is photography. Using one to imitate the other invaribaly weakens both.

@Zorilla: Thank you for your criticism and opinion. I use painting techniques to enhance some of my photos much like some artists use superrealism to produce paintings which look like photographs. I do not believe there are any rules in art. Combining styles and techniques is a right for anyone who creates. All my work is original - unlike some of yours ( i.e. Abraham's Carpets Baby) which is merely a photograph of someone else's art. How creative is that???Anyway, I put my work out on the web in order to get feedback from others. I value everyone's opinion, and try to learn from it. Thank you for the visit.
I just capture what I see - things that amuse, amaze, delight or confound me - and choose to share with friends, colleagues and whoever else may enjoy it.
I have a company that produces and prints large scale signs and banners so it's almost an occupational hazard that I'm drawn to other people's signs and signage. I make no claims to creativity. I am, at best, an artisan and would certainly never refer to anything I do in any aspect of my life as 'fine art' so you and I are ploughing very different furrows
